1968: Jerry Koosman pitches his first major league shutout as the Mets defeat the Dodgers, 4-0, at Los Angeles.
1971: Jerry Grote hits a home run in the 11th inning to give the Mets a 1-0 win over the Reds at Shea Stadium.
1985: Roger McDowell gets the win in his major league debut as the Mets defeat the Cardinals, 2-1, in 11 innings at Shea Stadium.
