1965: Danny Napoleon hits a three-run triple with two out in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Giants at San Francisco. The win is the 3,000th for Casey Stengel as a manager in professional baseball.
1979: The Mets score four runs in the first inning and six in the seventh for a 10-3 victory over the Giants at Shea Stadium. Mike Scott records his first major league win.
1986: Howard Johnson hits a game-tying home run in the ninth inning and George Foster gets an RBI single in the tenth to give the Mets a 5-4 win over the Cardinals in St. Louis.
1991: The Mets come from behind for a 7-3 win over the Phillies at Philadelphia. Kevin McReynolds drives in four runs and Pete Schourek records his first major league win.
