1972: Jim McAndrew and Tug McGraw combine for a five-hit shutout in a 5-0 Mets win over the Braves at Shea Stadium.

1973: Jerry Grote hits a grand slam and Tom Seaver pitches a two-hit shutout in a 7-0 Mets win over the Padres at San Diego.

1985: The Mets score three runs in the eighth inning for a 10-7 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. Tom Paciorek, Gary Carter and Ray Knight all hit home runs in the first inning.

1989: The Mets score two runs in the ninth inning for a 3-2 win over the Padres at Shea Stadium. A home run by Kevin McReynolds ties the game and Kevin Elster's double scores Barry Lyons to win it.

2000: The Mets sweep a doubleheader from the Rockies, 7-5 and 4-3, at Shea Stadium. Todd Zeile homers in the eighth inning for the winning run in the second game.

2006: The Mets lose to the Phillies, 11-4, despite three home runs by Jose Reyes.

2009: Giants' pitcher Matt Cain hits David Wright in the head with a 94 MPH fastball. Wright is hospitalized overnight and put on the 15-day disabled list.

2011: The Mets defeat the Padres, 5-4, in 10 innings at San Diego to end a five-game losing streak.
