1968: The Mets defeat the Astros, 4-1, in Houston. Kevin Collins hits a three-run homer in the ninth inning. It is Collins' first major league home run.

1973: The Mets score nine runs in the final three innings to defeat the Cardinals, 10-3, at Shea Stadium.

1975: Yogi Berra is fired as Mets manager and replaced by Roy McMillan.

1983: Walt Terrell becomes the first Mets pitcher ever to hit two home runs in one game. The Mets defeat the Cubs, 4-1.

1989: Kevin McReynolds hits a home run in the 14th inning to give the Mets a 2-1 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.

1998: The Mets score two runs in the ninth inning for a 9-8 victory over the Giants at Shea Stadium. Luis Lopez walks with the bases loaded to force home the winning run.

2002: Pedro Astacio pitches a three-hitter with ten strikeouts in a 5-1 Mets win over the Brewers at Milwaukee.

2006: The Mets score 7 runs in the fourth inning and defeat the Phillies, 8-1, at Shea Stadium. Jose Reyes hits a grand slam.

2010: Mike Hessman hits a three-run homer as a pinch hitter in the Mets' 7-5 loss to the Phillies. It is Hessman's first home run as a Met.

2011: The Mets defeat the Braves, 11-7, at Citi Field to end a five-game losing streak.
