Brian Bannister was a pitcher for the Mets in 2006. He appeared in eight games with the team. Bannister had a 2-1 won-lost record and 19 strikeouts as a Met.

In ’06, Bannister made his major league debut at Shea Stadium on April 5. He pitched six innings of two-hit ball and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 9-5 loss to the Nationals in 10 innings. Brian had seven innings pitched for the win in a 7-1 Mets victory at Washington on April 11. He was also the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 9-3 triumph over the Brewers on April 16 at Shea.

Bannister was traded to the Royals after the ’06 season. He pitched four seasons with the Kansas City team. Brian signed with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan in 2011.
