After a big Mets collapse in 2007 the Mets needed to get something going in the offseason. This was a very big move by the Mets treading a good part of there minor league system for a two time Cy young Award winner Johan Santana
The Mets sent Carlos Gomez who was the biggest prospect sent in this trade, he is a faster man then Jose Reyes. He is also a great center fielder, and a good leadoff hitter in Minnesota.
Philip Humber was also a big part of the trade, even thou he has Tommy John surgery he was still a good pitcher.
Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra are still prospects in the Twins minor league system.
