Casey Fossum has played for five teams. He started with Boston in 2001 where he played three seasons and was 14-11. In 2003 he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He did not play well there going 4-15 with a ERA of 6.65.
In the offseason before 2005 the D-Backs traded him to the Devil Rays, where he pitched fairly poorly, going 19-26 in three seasons in Tampa. On August 10, 2007 the Devil Rays released him. He then played for a short time in the Padres minor league system
On April 9 2008 he signed with the Tigers, he was not great with the Tigers giving up 26 runs in 44 innings.
In 2009 the Mets signed Casey to a minor league deal. He threw 4 innings and was only charged with 1 run, but he was sent down on April 27. Ken Takahashi came up in his place.
