Before the Mets

Endy Chavez is an outfielder that is known mostly for his glove. Before coming to the Mets in the offseason before the 2006 season Endy played for the Royals for half a season and the Expos\Nationals for three seasons.

Endy made the final out in Expos history in their loss to the Mets, at Shea Stadium.

In 2005 he played 91 games for the Phillies.

2006 with the Mets

Coming to the Mets in 2006 Endy was a great player off the bench.

The Catch

Endy Chavez made the most amazing catch in the 2006 playoffs if not in Mets history.

Oliver Perez was pitching in the top of the sixth inning with Jim Edmonds on first and a tied game at 1-1. Scott Rolen hit a deep fly ball to left field that was going to go over the wall, but not on Endy Chavez's watch. He made a great wall climbing catch and threw the ball to first base to make the double play, which ended the inning. Many consider it the best play ever made in the playoffs.

The rest of his time in New York

For the next two seasons with the Mets Endy got plenty of time to play due to injuries to Ryan Church and Fernando Tatis in 2008

Endy was traded to Seattle in the offseason after 2008 together with Joe Smith and Aaron Heilman to give the Mets J.J Putz.
