Gary Nathaniel Matthews Jr. (born August 25, 1974 in San Francisco, California) is an outfielder in Major League Baseball currently a free agent. Matthews is the son of Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Gary Matthews, who was a major league outfielder who played 16 years in the majors. He is a switch hitter.

First as a Met

In 2002 he played for the Mets just only for that year.

Back to a Met

On January 22,2010 he was traded to the Mets for Brian Stokes to the LA Angels.

On June 15, 2010 he was let go by the Mets.
