Joe Frazier

Joseph Filmore Frazier (born October 6, 1922 - February 15,2010(88)) is a former outfielder and manager in Major League Baseball. He was signed as an amateur free agent in 1941, but did not play in the major leagues until 1947. After 1947, he spent parts of three seasons in the 1950s, primarily with the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1956, at the age of 33, he finished his playing career after having played in 217 games.
Mets Manager
Joe was in the Mets farm system in the beginning of 1968. In 1975 Frazier was promoted manager of the Mets on October 3.
Fired from the Mets
The Mets finished the 1976 season in third place with a 86-76 record. The club in 1977 got off to a 15-30 but however he got replaced by former manager Joe Torre.
Death
It was announced that Joe passed away at the age of 88. It is unknown what the cause of his death is as of now.
