After five seasons with the Baltimore the O's traded Jorge and John Maine to the Mets for Kris Benson on the offseason before the 2006 season.

Jorge only spent a few months with the Mets as he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Orlando Hernandez on May 24.
