1975: Jerry Koosman steals second base and pitches a complete game in a 3-1 win over the Reds.
1977: Jon Matlack pitches a seven-hit shutout as the Mets defeat the Padres, 5-0. It is Matlack's 26th and final shutout as a Met.
1986: The Mets defeat the Reds, 6-3, in 14 innings at Cincinnati. With all the Mets' reserves used in the game, relievers Roger McDowell and Jesse Orosco shift between the mound and the outfield during the extra innings.
1988: The Mets sweep a doubleheader, 6-1 and 5-1, against the Braves at Shea Stadium. In the opener, Dwight Gooden records his 1,000th career strikeout and Mookie Wilson singles for his 1,000th career hit.
2002: Marco Scutaro's two-run triple puts the Mets ahead to stay in a 5-2 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.
2007: The Mets defeat the Dodgers, 5-4, in 10 innings at Los Angeles. Chip Ambres drives in the winning run with a single.
