1966: Jerry Grote's run-scoring single in the 11th inning gives the Mets a 3-2 win over the Reds at Shea Stadium.
1977: Tom Seaver pitches a complete game in a 3-1 Mets' win over the Astros in Houston. It is Tom's last game as a Met before his trade to the Reds three days later.
1979: The Mets score ten runs in the sixth inning and go on to defeat the Reds, 12-6, at Shea Stadium.
1982: The Mets score five runs in the third inning en route to a 6-2 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium.
1985: The Mets score four runs in the 11th inning for a 7-3 victory at Philadelphia. Rick Aguilera records the win in his major league debut.
1994: Kevin McReynolds hits two home runs to lead the Mets to a 5-4 win over the Expos at Shea Stadium.
2003: On the same day that general manager Steve Phillips is fired, the Mets trounce the Texas Rangers by a score of 11-0 at the Ballpark in Arlington.
