1967: Bob Shaw pitches a six-hit shutout as the Mets defeat the Reds, 4-0, at Shea Stadium.
1980: The Mets pull out a 7-6 win over the Giants with five runs in the ninth inning. Steve Henderson hits his first home run of the year to win it.
1983: The Mets trade Marvell Wynne and Steve Senteney to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Junior Ortiz and Art Ray.
1997: The Mets record their first regular season interleague win with a 5-2 triumph over the Red Sox at Shea Stadium. Mark Clark pitches seven innings of no-hit ball and hits his only career home run.
2009: The Mets become the first team in baseball history to have three players named Fernando in a starting lineup. Fernando Tatis, Fernando Martinez and pitcher Fernando Nieve start the game against the Yankees.
