1976: Dave Kingman hits a home run in the 14th inning to give the Mets a 1-0 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
1979: The Mets' game against the Braves at Shea Stadium is suspended after eight innings due to the fact that the Mets have an early evening flight to Houston. The game is completed on August 27 with the Mets winning, 2-1.
1996: After letting a 6-0 lead get away, the Mets defeat the Pirates, 7-6, in 10 innings at Pittsburgh.
2001: The Mets score six runs in the eighth inning for an 8-7 comeback win over the Yankees at Shea Stadium.
