1970: The Mets sweep a doubleheader, 9-5 and 6-1, over the Cubs at Chicago. The win in the second game puts the Mets into first place in the National League East Division.

1971: Tom Seaver hits a home run in the eighth inning to give himself and the Mets a 2-1 win over the Expos at Montreal.

1975: Jerry Koosman gets his 100th career win as the Mets beat the Cardinals, 5-1.

1987: Bill Almon's run-scoring single in the ninth inning gives the Mets a 2-1 win over the Cubs at Shea Stadium.

1989: Ron Darling hits his first major league home run in a 4-2 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium.

1990: The Mets score three runs in the ninth inning to pull out a 6-5 win over the Phillies.

1994: Dwight Gooden makes his last start as a Met. He loses the game as the Pirates beat the Mets, 9-4.

2000: The Mets score three runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Pirates, 10-8, at Shea Stadium.

2009: The Mets collect sixteen hits in an 11-0 victory over the Cardinals at Citi Field.
