1964: Galen Cisco pitches a four-hit shutout as the Mets defeat the Dodgers, 8-0, at Shea Stadium.

1977: The Mets sweep a doubleheader with 6-5 (in 10 innings) and 3-2 wins over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. In the first game, Joe Torre pinch hits to become the first player-manager in Mets history.

1978: The Mets rebound from a six-run deficit to defeat the Dodgers, 9-8, at Shea Stadium. Three runs in the ninth inning give the Mets the win. Met relievers retire the last 16 Los Angeles batters of the game.

1987: In his first game after rehab, Dwight Gooden records the win in the Mets' 5-1 victory over the Pirates.

1988: The Mets get 18 hits and defeat the Cubs, 11-3, at Shea Stadium. Dwight Gooden pitches seven hitless innings and hits a home run.

1990: Tom O'Malley hits a home run in the 11th inning to give the Mets a win over the Expos.

2001: Rick Reed pitches a four-hit shutout at Philadelphia. The Mets defeat the Phillies, 9-0.

2010: Oliver Perez is put on the 15-Day Disabled List. Also, Jon Niese returns from the DL and pitches 7 innings against the Florida Marlins in a 6-1 Mets win at Citi Field.
