Lucas Duda was a 7th round pick out of USC in 2007. He was not considered a top prospect until breaking out in 2010, with a 914 OPS at Binghamton (197 PA) and then a 999 at Buffalo (298 PA). He tied a Buffalo record by homering in 5 straight games. The Mets called him up on September 1, right after trading Jeff Francoeur.
The six foot five first baseman was moved to the outfield with first base blocked by Ike Davis.
Lucas was brought back up in 2011 after tearing up AAA, and with Ike Davis injured.
