1966: The Mets score three runs in the ninth inning for a 7-6 win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.
1971: Nolan Ryan strikes out 16 batters in a 2-1 Mets victory over the Padres at San Diego. The win gives the Mets a sweep of a doubleheader.
1981: The Mets trade Jeff Reardon and Dan Norman to the Montreal Expos for Ellis Valentine.
1987: The Mets trade Al Pedrique and Scott Little to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Bill Almon.
2007: The Mets defeat the Giants, 5-4, in 12 innings at Shea Stadium. Former Met reliever Armando Benitez commits two balks to tie the game before giving up a winning homer to Carlos Delgado.
2010: Fernando Nieve starts for the Mets at Milwaukee. In honor of the Negro Leagues, the Mets wear uniforms of the New York Cubans while the Brewers wear those of the Milwaukee Bears. Nieve gives up two home runs and is taken out of the game after two innings pitched. The Brewers defeat the Mets, 8-6.
