1962: Roger Craig gets the Mets' first save in their history in a 7-5 win over the Phillies.
1964: The Mets lose to the Reds, 12-4, in first night game at Shea Stadium.
1966: Cleon Jones hits a home run in the ninth inning to give the Mets a 2-1 win over the Cubs at Shea Stadium. Rob Gardner pitches a complete game for his first major league win.
1970: The Mets and Tom Seaver beat Don Sutton and the Dodgers, 5-4. Cleon Jones hits a solo homer and Bud Harrelson scores three runs. It is the Mets' 15th straight win in games started by Seaver.
1976: The Mets defeat the Reds, 4-2, at Shea Stadium. For the second time in the three-game series, reliever Skip Lockwood strikes out Cincinnati's Johnny Bench in the clutch and earns a save.
1983: The Mets defeat the Reds, 7-4, in 13 innings. Four late home runs provide for an amazing comeback.
1988: Darryl Strawberry hits a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Mets a 4-3 win over the Reds at Shea Stadium. Darryl drives in all the Mets' runs in the game.
1990: The Mets beat the Astros, 7-4. John Franco gets his first win as a Met.
2003: Tony Clark and Vance Wilson hit back-to-back homers in the fourth inning of a 3-2 Mets win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
