Mike only played 28 games with the Mets, but he made quite an impression. He came up late in the 2005 season and hit eleven home runs with 23 RBI and a .310 AVG in his 100 at bats.
After the season he was traded with Yusmeiro Petit for Carlos Delgado.
Since leaving the Mets Mike never hit over .270. After the 2008 season he was traded to the Kansas City Royals.
Before the 2009 season the Mets got Jacobs to compete with Daniel Murphy, Fernando Tatis and Ike Davis
