1969: The Mets play their first post-season home game and beat the Braves, 7-4, to sweep the best-of-5 NLCS for their first pennant. The title comes on the birthday of the game's starting pitcher (Gary Gentry) and catcher (Jerry Grote.) Tommie Agee and Ken Boswell each hit their second home runs of the series and Wayne Garrett's homer puts the Mets ahead to stay. Nolan Ryan, with seven strikeouts in relief, is the winning pitcher.

1985: Rusty Staub plays his last major league game.

1991: David Cone strikes out 19 Phillies in the final game of the season. The Mets win, 7-0.
