Omar Minaya

Omar Minaya (born November 10, 1958) started his career as the assistant General Manager for GM Steve Phillips.
Second time with the Mets
Minaya left the Mets for the Expos for the General Manager job. Then he came back to the Mets. He fired former manager Willie Randolph and he fired Tony Bernazard. He fired Willie in 2008 and Bernazard in 2009.
On October 4 2010 the Mets fired Omar after the team missed the playoffs for the fourth straight year.
Minaya's biggest accomplishments as a Met
- Singed Carlos Beltran and Pedro Martinez in his first offseason (before the 2005 season)
- Traded for Carlos Delgado and signed Billy Wagner in the offseason before the 2006 season
- Traded for Johan Santana In the offseason before the 2008 season.
