| Sent: Ryan Church |
| Received: Jeff Francoeur |
The Mets and Braves made a trade of right fielders during the 2009 season. Ryan Church was sent to Atlanta in exchange for Jeff Francoeur. Both players set high expectations when first joining their teams before declining. Church, a six-tear major leaguer, batted .278 in two seasons with the Mets, but had suffered from migraines and head injures that decreased his production. Francoeur, who didn't miss a game for the Braves in 2006 and 2007, batted .243 over the last two seasons.
As a Met, Francoeur had a .268 batting average in 199 games played. He hit 21 homers and drove in 95 runs over two seasons in New York. Jeff was dealt to the Texas Rangers in August of 2010.
Church played in 44 games with the Braves during the rest of the '09 season. He hit .260 with 2 home runs and 18 RBIs for the Atlanta team. Ryan joined the Pittsburgh Pirates as a free agent in 2010.
