1965: Dick Selma pitches a 1-0 shutout over the Milwaukee Braves at Shea Stadium. Charley Smith singles home Joe Christopher with the winning run in the 10th inning. It is the Mets' last game against the Braves as a Milwaukee team.
1969: Jerry Koosman and Don Cardwell each pitch 1-0 shutouts and drive in the games' only runs in a doubleheader sweep over the Pirates.
1971: Mike Jorgensen's single in the ninth inning gives the Mets a 3-2 win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium. Winning pitcher Danny Frisella scores on Jorgensen's hit.
1984: Dwight Gooden pitches a 2-0 shutout over the Pirates at Shea Stadium. Gooden strikes out 16 batters and set a new seasonal record for strikeouts by a rookie pitcher.
1985: The Mets defeat the Cardinals, 7-6, at Shea Stadium to take over sole possession of first place in the National League Eastern Division.
1993: Sid Fernandez pitches a four-hit shutout as the Mets defeat the Cubs, 5-0, at Shea Stadium. It is Sid's last complete game as a Met and the final shutout of his major league career.
2009: David Wright drives in six runs with a single and two home runs in a 10-9 Mets win over the Phillies at Philadelphia.
