1972: The Mets score 11 runs in the eighth and ninth innings to come from behind and defeat the Houston Astros, 11-8.
1984: The Mets defeat the Padres, 3-2, at Shea Stadium. George Foster singles home Mookie Wilson with the winning run in the 12th inning.
1987: The Mets defeat the Padres, 4-3, to complete a three-game series sweep at San Diego. Howard Johnson hits a two-run homer in the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead to stay.
2004: Rookie David Wright has his first career 2-homer game. He hits his first one off Carl Pavano and the second one off Josias Manzanillo.
2008: The Mets defeat the Brewers, 6-5, in 10 innings at Milwaukee. A sacrifice fly by Endy Chavez scores Daniel Murphy with the winning run. Jonathon Niese becomes the first Met pitcher ever to give up a home run to his first major league batter when the Brewers' Rickie Weeks hits one to lead off the bottom of the first inning.
2010: The Mets place pitcher John Maine on the 60-day disabled list and call up catcher Mike Nickeas.
