1967: The Mets play a doubleheader against the Reds at Shea Stadium. After losing the first game by the score of 3-0, the Mets win the nightcap, 5-4. The victory in Game 2 ends the Mets' five-game losing streak in games started by Tom Seaver.

1979: The Mets defeat the Pirates, 3-2, in 15 innings. John Stearns' single scores Lee Mazzilli with the winning run. Ed Kranepool hits the last home run of his career.

1982: The Mets defeat the Pirates, 9-1, at Pittsburgh. Rick Ownbey records his first major league win and Ron Hodges hits a grand slam.

1985: Mookie Wilson hits a home run in the 14th inning to give the Mets a 4-3 win over the Dodgers at Los Angeles.
