Victor Zambrano

Victor Zambrano was a pitcher for the Mets from 2004 to 2006. He appeared in 39 games with the team. Zambrano recorded 10 wins and 141 strikeouts as a Met.

Zambrano came to the Mets from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays during the '04 season. In his first game with the team on August 5, he was the winning pitcher in an 11-6 Mets victory at Milwaukee. Victor also had seven innings of two-hit ball to earn the win in the Mets' 2-1 victory over the Astros on August 12 at Shea Stadium.

In 2005, Zambrano pitched 166 and one-third innings for the Mets. He won seven games during the year. Victor got the win in a 16-4 Mets victory at Philadelphia on April 19. He pitched eight innings for the win in the Mets' 2-1 triumph over the Diamondbacks on June 1 at Shea. Zambrano had seven innings pitched for the win in a 9-3 Mets triumph at Colorado on July 27. He pitched eight innings and was the winning pitcher in a 6-1 Mets victory over the Cubs on August 7 at Shea. Victor also had eight innings pitched, two singles and a run scored in the Mets' 14-1 win at Arizona on August 23.

Zambrano missed most of the Mets' division-winning 2006 season with an injured right elbow. He made only five appearances for the year. Victor's only win of '06 came in the Mets' 13-4 victory at Washington on April 13. At Shea on May 6, he was replaced after one and one-third innings of the Mets' eventual 6-5 win over the Braves. Zambrano went on the disabled list the following day.

In 2007, Zambrano pitched in 13 games for the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles to conclude his career.
